I was at Dibble Locksmiths (near the corner of Redland bay road & Ney road in Capalapalapalaba) a few weeks back and they told me they could cut a VW key to a code.

I need one of these, the whole pedal assembly was pretty average but we managed to salvage almost all of it. The pedal is a bit worse for wear, but this rod didn't make it out alive.
