early model 1.6.front wheeldrive but motor was inline.

Problem is mate a lot of models fit your description because its pretty vague

There are also two different types of Auto in the early one's, so you may need to find some numbers on the old one.

the main difficulty here is that i dont have a box to start with so not easy to check any numbers.it doesnt matter which model as it will not be used in a passat anyhow.as long as the diff is all good.hope this makes it simpler.thanks
