short version: I need to find an ignition switch on Sat and then hopefully test that it is indeed my only problem. meanwhile the square has been farmed out so, i'm in for a cruise if the bug is fixed. I'll check in here tomorrow pm, or call me.
Long version: Just got in after an afternoon of roadside non-assistance: spent an hour under the car at the side of the freeway soaked in petrol trying to re connect a fuel line...now was that before or after a short tried to melt the wiring which then fell off the coil? It could be the ignition switch since it tried to lock the starter motor on when only resting in the 'Acc' position (at 80km/h)! Or has the switch been fried by a short elsewhere!?
and I was only running around in the 'new' bug for the first time since the Nat's maiden voyage so I could iron out any kinks b4 this sunday (lucky I did or you may have had to watch some of this!)

Sorry guys, funds are a little tight again thanks to that fine I copped on the way to the nats, and because I'm a poor-arse student. I know it's the same old weak excuse, and for this I apologise, but hopefully it won't be too long before I can see you guys again. 
And it sucks even more because I'll miss the Porregorrerrarga. Next time? And if you want any help with bogging on the whale tail, let me know mate!
Paul, that sucks mate. Your fuel filter was looking pretty scarily close to your Dissy mate, I'd hate to see that rusty bitch up in flames!
