I'm after a set of Volmac or similar recliners for a 60's beetle so I can have the standard seats set at a more comfortable position for a big boy like me. :)

OR If anyone has worked out as way to get the seats in a more reclined position without destroying them I'd like to hear your ideas as well..

Cheers
Peter

I've got a set in mine, and you can't drive with them down, unless your wear your hat backwards and have WuTang flogging through the stereo.

They only solution to this problem, is to bus a bus.

Grind off the little side supports on the seat frames, lay the seat back to the position you want it, drill a 10mm hole or similar and run a bolt through the main seat frame if that makes any sense? I'm 6' 2" and did it to my 58, worked a treat and I could have my legs at full stretch

:D I'm not thinking I'd roll with them quite that slung back..wigger aint my thing.

I sat in a bug that had a set in it on the weekend that had the Volmac's and as they have the pivot point above the standard location, the back was at a perfect angle for me in the most upright position.

Thanks for the tip Lee, I think having a higher pivot point via a plate welded to the base might do it if I can't find the brackets.
