They are badges that Aldo was selling at some stage.
Never seen them before......Are they the real deal?
Just some questions come to mind.......These are supposedly Australian rally badges.
If they are Australian.....Why would they make them with the Wolfsburg crest on them? Just seems odd to me..........I maybe wrong,
Also, the crest is the 1960's style crest......so IF it is original, it is not from the 1950's.
Pretty much all of the rally badges I know of, usually had something about the rally on them, like these.

Thanks John - voice of reason...
I was saying the car needed a badge like those of yours....
Spewing I sold my similar Olympics 56 badge on the weekend coz I thought it might have suited this car too.... (late by a few days)
Doesn't surprise me these might not be correct and a later make or repro or something... The owner of the car is adamant this oval had one, but who knows if it was a later addition or something? He owned the car a decade or so ago, and has just got it back and trying to piece it together...
Thanks again for the wealth of knowledge John...

Looks like they are real Ben.
I am going to go out on a limb here, and have a guess at the age of these badges. I say approx. 1963-1966.
I base this on 2 factors.
1. the price written on the front of the packaging, is pre decimal currency. We went to decimal currency in 1966.
2. The phone number on the back of the package is of the newer style phone number with 7 numbers. In 1962, they were still using the 2 letters and four number system.
In the VW Australian dealer network booklets, the 1962 version shows the Auburn VW dealer as having the old style phone number listed. The 1964 version of the same booklet, shows the Auburn dealer with the new phone number system.
That is how I arrived at the 1963-1966 date.
