Rear bumper from a schwarz car?

Turns out the guy who bought it new had learned to drive by using the force
Both bumpers were knocked around a bit and front guards had a couple of little dings, and rear wheel arch as well
He passed away apparently last year sometime and his wife passed the car on to her nephew who is meant to be a mechanic, so he could fix her up
Well that's where it went sud, his idea of repairs involved spraying primer putty on everything including inside! Then pulling 90% of the interior apart because they couldn't get it to run.
He explained to me that every time it would start I would stall.

So they tried a new battery, nup
Called the RACV, he had no clue either
Then pulled the interior apart looking for the computer cause that must be the problem.
I turned to him and said "the key wasn't coded, and the computers not in there"
"Yeah, how'd you know? We had to get Volkswagen to do a reprogram".
So started on the guards last night
Can't see it in the pics, but colour is wrong and I think he painted it in the dirt with a brush
So a bit of tappa tappa. Then a light skim and some hi fill (8
Put them into some colour this arvo no pics though

sounds like he wasn't really a car guy.
GTi bumpers are the go.
Did my headlights the other day. Didn't bother attempting to remove them though, as unlike the rears, it looked like it'd be a pain in the arse! Guess I was right.

They use metal, probably 15mm long, staples like you'd find holding cheap arsed furniture together to lock the lenses to the housing
Was gonna mask some of the chrome and paint them
But the chrome plastic doesn't hold, so they'll get full paint now I guess
What did you do to your tail lights Arfur

So sad that such a late model can get that trashed! Glad you are giving it some life again! But one unfortunate thing with the late models, they just aren't made to last....I have a 2008 Caddy, just on 60k and always babied....but I don't think it will last as long as the older ones....there's some dodgey shit going on with building them now!

Think you're right.
I don't think it helps that there is just more on them to go wrong now. No Airbag/DPF/power steering/etc. failures on my old aircooleds.

He probably doesn't know yet. He has a lot going on. With the gloss painted, fiberglass subwoofer box to fill the back, & about 7 Tv's to install, & the steering wheel without an airbag, aluminum clip on pedals, universal fit anodized e-brake handle & matching shift knob.
Good find Jase, going to be a good looking car.
