WTB: Engine, something bigger than a 1600

Post by karmannghia60 »

Just putting an early feeler out there. Puma's engine is tired so I either reco it or go with something else. So seeing what's out there. If I am to buy one then I won't be going for a 1600, I might as well reco what I have. I would be looking for a 1776, 1916, etc
Long block is fine, I have cooling, elec fuel pump, twin carbies, etc
Let me know what have
Not in a hurry

With that logic in mind, you still may as well reco what you have. Only difference is machining for bigger barrels.

Or look at a 1680. No machining.

Have a read of the engine specs thread.

Thanks Mate, wasn't keen on the 1680 (or the 1835) because as far as I know (and I am no expert) they are thin walled barrels and they warp quicker

Not true. AA slip ins are thick wall. Only machined on the end where its inside the case anyway.
