Registering rats and rust in Sydney...

Hi all, just about to get a wonderfully patina'd bug on the road, and while she has been mechanically overhauled, of course looks like complete crap (by choice, of course) with surface rust only (panels and structure are A1).
I have never tried to get new paperwork on such an ugly car, and would like to make the process as painless as possible.
I'm hoping I can get some leads on some sympathetic/reasonable inspection stations that will not have a problem with surface rust.
Many thanks in advance for any clues...at any location in Sydney.

My advice, no matter where you live. If you dont know of a roadworthy guy by word of mouth, find the dirtiest dodgiest, darkest hole of a shop, run by a crazy lebo, and you should be sweet.

Just make sure you get your Indian mate to take your car, and dress him up in belly-high blau shorts and kneehigh socks.

OK people, thanks for your comments so far.
Maybe I wasn't being explicit enough in my original question. This rat is to be 'blau (b l u e) slipped' after being off the road for a 1/4 century.
It is solid as, engine and brakes all replaced etc, but looks like shite.
We all know the rules (if the car is 'sound' it will be fine), but pissing off an inspection station by telling them how much they don't know their job usually leads to a waste one one's time...and the search for another inspection site.
Any rat owners (or friend's of) that have leads on Sydney inspection sites sympathetic to the 'patina'?
I really was expecting that the Northern Alliance would have some solid info (c'mon, our Melburg Brothers are having a chuckle down there!).
Many thanks in advance.

I took my rat 57 oval to a mechanic in the same complex where Andrew dodd is at nord rocks. No problems re faded/ patina look. Just make sure there are no oil leaks.

For anyone else in the same situation, some info that worked for me:
Peninsula Prestige Autos
33 Warraba Rd nord Narrabeen 2101
(02) 9913 3115
"Roland" (a real life G erman mechanic) understands that Rules, Roadworthness, and Ratty looks and not mutually exclusive. Your car will have to be a Rat, and not just a dangerous shitbox...but that's what we're all about, right?
Thanks for everyone's feedback on this topic (on the forums and elsewhere).
A bug's life: only 17 years on the road, 25 years off, then 10 part-time days later, rego and back on the road!
