Good luck, originals are very hard to find.
Many people believe they have an original, but when compared to a real one, you can spot the differences.
The repops lose detail when they are recast.
The original in the pics has the split in it, but there is also another original version without this split.
You will see differences in the casting details on the wings under the bullet. The repops are not as detailed.
This might help demonstrate this. :
Original, heavy cast
European repro, aluminium

Also, originals will have the join where the 2 molds joined, still on the badge (unless it has been polished and rechromed, in which case, you won't be able to tell if it a repop or an original).

Here are some other styles:
The one at the top is a billet repro made in the late 1990's.
The one in the background on the left is an original, more common in Sydney.
The one on the right is an original similar to the one pictured above but without the slit in the middle of it.
The one on the right is another version that required drilling 2 holes on either side of your bonnet trim.
The one in the background is another Sydney version.

For an original rocket style....
approx. 10 slabs of VB,
or half a bottle of Grange,
or 5 tickets for a pre DOVW party,
or 30% of a Rudd child bonus,
or $300+.

The kangaroo is from Standard Vangaurd. Pommie car that was assembled in Oz. There is Pommie built ones here too, but they don't have the kangaroo on it.
Flying VW.......Sorry, I don't want to part with it. Look for a better one than mine. Mine is pitted and bubbling badly, and I paid too much for it.
Probably get it bolted to my coffin when I go......
