i am 1 suburb away from Newtown.

Go the the Annandale hotel on a week end for Pub Cha.

Australian Wildlife park at Darling Harbour is great,

We have Awesome beaches like bronte, Tammarama.

Do the coast walk from bondi to coogee,

some of the harbour beaches are good to like Neilson Park and Camp Cove.

go to the MCA museum of contemporary art.

Do a bridge climb.

have a picnic in the bontanicals or go to moonlight cinema.

Imax in 3D

Cockatoo island where the built the war ships is AWESOME.

Oxford arts factory for the nightclub.

Catch a ferry to manly.

cruise around centennial park on your lowrider.

Hang out with Dubbin and me.

i'm no expert on sydney, but here's what i know of:

had a free afternoon a week or so ago and popped into deus in camperdown!

ace joint! bike shop, customs, clothing, cafe, books... definitley a must see place.
 www.deus.com.au

they also have a smaller store in darlinghurst?

- which looks like it's right around the corner from outre gallery (odd-ball, low brow, art, cars books, skate, surf, tattoos, kitsch, kustom kulture, etc...)
 www.outregallery.com

also in darlinghurst is route 66 (retro clothing, kustom kulture...)
 www.route66.com.au

i didn't make it to darlinghurst this time, but wandered over to king street as it's not too far from deus...

king street has heaps to look at, lots of second hand shops, vintage clothing and hand-made crafty designer gear... wander down the whole strip.
couple of cool places on king street:

s.s. scooter engineering - ace scooter shop repairing, restoring vespas and lambrettas, also sells scooter accessories.
 www.scooterengineering.com

across the road is faster pussycat kustom kulture clothing, great car books...

if you're into really traditional 40s/50s clothes, then check out retro spec'd clothing:

if we didn't have a prior engagement this coming weekend, i reckon we'd be heading up to the fifties fair at rose seidler house.

sunday 23rd august 09, 10am - 5pm

Bottom end of King St Newtown is where it's at. Lots of retro shops, Faster Pussycat, Newtown Old Wares is great. Great movies also at the Dendy Newtown too. As Mikey said, Retro specd is down that end too.

Glebe Markets and Paddington Bazaar are pretty cool.

If you like something cheap, get the Ferry to Mosman Wharf, and then walk around the foreshore back to Cremorne Point, then get the ferry back to Circular Quay. There are some awesome houses along there, and the view is brilliant.

Balmoral Beach is a great spot too. Nice and protected, the wasser is clean, and you can get good coffee and fish and chips too. Numerous weiss pointers to be seen whilst walking along the beach front as well.

nord Head has the best view of the city looking back up the harbour. There's also the Quarantine Station there too which does evening ghost tours.

Breakfast at Pancakes at The Rocks on a Sunday is good. Whilst passe, is still good fun. Have enough to fill you for the day, walk around The Rocks markets, have a beer or three, and throw it all back up again. Whilst in The Rocks, visit Rokit vintage.

Yep the Fifties Fair is on again these weekend too. I'm not doing a cruise there this year, but will be there again. Awesome day. Check the Historic House Trust website for details.

The Lava Rooms are also on this Saturday night too. So if you're into Tiki and Rockabilly, this IS the place to be this weekend.
