g'day i'm new here, name is Nick.
i'm looking for a notch or pre 67 beetle, maybe a fasty.
must have a current RWC or be very close to getting one, i'm at uni and don't have much time or space for any big modifications or repairs. it wont be a daily driver just one or two nip-around's a week with the odd big 2+hr trip maybe once a month.
i'm not in a huge hurry for a car but will continue to keep a vigilant eye on eBay, carsales, trading post etc. i'm well prepared to wait for the right car.
budget: around $3,000 to $5,000 depending on condition and model.
let me know if you can help me out.

i've got a mate in Brisbane with this 58 beetle up for sale now he has a new Golf:
'58 with disc front, type 3 rear drums, IRS, adjustable front/rear suspension, modern seatbelts, had a re-spray 10 years ago, 1600 twin port & a cd player. all mods engineered in QLD.
he says it needs some king pin bushes, a brake master cylinder and two tyres. i'll investigate further.

admin/luft interwebz wizards please delete this thread.
the car i was hunting for was to be for myself and my sister, to be purchased by us but paid for by my parents, we would then be responsible for all additional costs, maintenance, rego blah blah blah. last week my mum came home with a '97 Golf cabriolet she bought on a spurr of the moment from a person claiming to be going overseas.
long story short no early VW for me as i can't afford to buy myself one because i have other projects and future holidays plans underway.
might come along to the jamboree in a few weeks anyway.

Sorry to hear your news fella.
Worry not.....bide your time (and money) and you'll find the right car. Just use the time inbetween to do more research.....figure out exactly what it is you want and what you want to do with it, that way you'll probably end up spending less money.
