im pretty much pulling the motor apart and giving it a clean because it has 40 years of oil built up around it. i gt to the dipstick tube and thought it looked abit strange does anybody know where i can get a secondhand one check out how rooted it is.....

Seems to me you have a Type 3 motor in your bug, what you've got is a conversion dipstick tube. should be able to get another from a vw supplier.

As above, thats definately a conversion tube for a type3 case.

Should be easy to get another
