Hessisch-oldendorf 09 vintage VW meet in der fatherland

hi all
just got back from H-O in der fatherland and ghee am lost for words
it was insane the amount of cars the setting the cars and and and
it was reported that there were 1450 cars
and they all had to be old!
like no big windows allowed.....!!!!
(of course they rocked up anyways and good on them)
and the swap meet was packed but dont expect to get anything cheap
eg bus steeringwheel nos 1000euros(2k aus)
anyways i will put up a few teasers cause none of my jibberish will come close to what attended
enjoy!!!
first thing i ran into was a late 40s split beetle and that was in the carpark!

not one but 27 hebmuellers in a row!!!
the famous VW 38 as found in lithuania earlier
on its way to be restored(read up on the samba)
amazing stuff
was exhibited in the middle of the church
where there held the sunday service around it.....
crazy germans
a barndoor samba slamed no less
and if that wasnt enough it was 'only'
one of four!!!

plenty of wartime VWs i think i counted a dozen schwimmwagens
and some sort of komandeurs wagen
this is a very low production karman ghia tc
build for the brasilian market

The show was fantastic, as it was in 2005, but much bigger this time round. It's a truely mind blowing show. How's no less than 26 real Hebs all parked up in one street for starters!

Hey that's the Barndoor Samba they call the Resurrection - that's an awesome car.
I saw it in Holland at Beautiful Budel (the big Dutchy show) a few weeks back - obviously on tour.

Such attractive looking cars, never mind the fact that they are 55 years old.
