Hi guys,
I didn't make it to the swap meet on Sunday in my new beetle because i spent it fixing one oil leak only to find that my oil cooler is also f#@$ed so has anyone got an oil cooler out there for me? Need to get her on the road quick as i'm borrowing cars to get around at the moment.
And shims for the front, has a wobble in the left hand front upper torsion arm link... i think some shims may have gone missing over the years while being updated
I need these parts asap! so if you've got them give me a call on either 0415 392 754 or 52593104
Cheers,
Muz

Muz, silly question but have you tried to tighten the link pin. Normally a good tighten and pump full of grease will have it sorted.

not such a silly question hertz as i haven't bothered trying that yet because i've been more concerned with the oil leaks so i'll do that tomorrow night and check it out.
thanks

Get a copy of the idiots guide, It has a great section on link and king pins. Failing that you could give me a call, and I can talk you through it.

might have to get you to introduce me to hank sometime doc.... possibly soon, lets just say that in a rush of putting the engine back together tonight i got a wire around the wrong way
looks like the distributor is still ok but i need new points and a condenser, replace some fried wires and i also realised that one of the threads on the carby is stripped out so i'll have to re-tap that
call me spastic, i know... having some really bad luck with this car so far
