Has anyone got a spare firewall for the engine bay kicking around?

If not, does anyone know whether using thick conveyor belt rubber to make my own is a good / bad idea?
There's nothing there at present and i just want to cut the interior noise down to a lesser shout! :D

Sorry..probably not very clear explanation there!

Behind the engine is just bare metal: ie there's none of that rubber material stuff (or whatever it's made of) there.

I'm thinking that by replacing it, it's going to lessen the noise a bit.

cool, well that metal bits your firewall, you just want some sound deadener/proofing.

have you still got the headliner and sound proofing on the inside? if you do dont know how much more quietness youll gain? i dont have any sound proofing at all in my car, on either side..... but i like the noise

Theres very little on the inside too, so im guessing it'll all help a bit!

So whats the proper name for what was meant to be in there?
Is it firewall soundproofing?

It's going to be easier to find what i'm after if i can find out what it's called!
