few things needed for RWC

Hi. I'm in need of the following for the '69 square. New or used.

1 tail light lens
LH door seal (or leads to a cheap one)
Speedo cable
Front and rear bump stops
Tailgate rubber seal

The 135 nankangs' diameter is too small. If someone has some roadworthy tyres on 4x130 rims that they'd lend me for a few days, That would save me a lot of trouble.

Let me know if you can help.

Cheers

and now you are trying to cut corners...? sounds great :?

does the buyer know you want to use cheap rubbers and borrowed tyres...?

what is it with Kids today

The borrowed tyres are only so it can get passed the RWC. And i'm aware how much a genuine type3 rubber can cost.

which brings us back to Bens Question?

dodgy roadworthies happen everyday and we can't do much about that - I would just be concerned posting on public forums if this is the intention...

and moreso if the new owner gets pulled over two weeks into ownership and gets a canary for unroadworthy items...

he/she is gonna say - well it was roadworthied when I bought it...? and then the fun begins...

if you got good money for the car and offered it with a roady then fork out a couple hundred for some decent tyres (nankangs are like $65ea) and know that you ain't gonna recieve a phonecall two weeks later from the owner, vicroads, or a cop attending the scene of an accident or someshit...

It has perfectly good 135 nangkangs on it but the smaller diameter puts the speedo out. As for the door rubber - A $30 brazilian rubber is going to be better than the 40 y.o one that is currently barely holding on. It's not necessarily shit quality.

 You keep arguing against yourself

So yes the tyres aren't going to be roadworthy due to diameter so when said buyer gets pulled over and says "I wasn't going that fast" he has a valid argument and would hopefully come after your ass!

That does make sense. I thought a few people would use 135s. What are they good for then?

they look cool

I use them on mine - but I put them on, I know what they are doing to my speedo, I know what the follow on is if I get pulled up...

Yes people use 135s on their own cars and thats fine your own risk etc etc

But its not only deceitful but illegal to alter a car after its been roadworthied

Use your brain for fucks sake

I was a little confused about the 135s and registering the car for myself compared to registering it for a new owner. Because the 135s passed when the car was going into my name. Didn't think I was being dodgy.

Good advice Jase....

Does this also apply to your front tire choice at 2009 DOVW...?

Yeah thats my risk my decision on my car

Im not saying 135s are dangerous cause they're not but if it aint legal you cant then pass it off to someone else in a sale as being legal.
I wouldn't sell my car modded as it is and try passing it off as Roadworthy

If you sell your car with a roady leave it that way, if the new owner wants to change it thats up to him

If the new owner crashes gets booked what ever, and they go back and chase the RW Tester your screwing him and next in line is you.

Just clearing it up - the borrowed tyres would stay on the car until vicroads had seen it and the car was in the new owners name. That's the plan.
