WTB: 1954 36hp engine or case

Hi,
Looking for a complete 1954 beetle 36 horse engine or even a good case so I can build up an engine. Engine number would be between
1-0718 594 to 1-0970 181

I still have that Nov 54 engine which is a perfect match for a Dec 54 car, could even be the original motor....you must have lost my number.

Toby, looks like its been in wasser at some point. The cylinders were rusted in the bores and the crank and rods had plenty of surface rust on them. Major concern is there is some wasser corrosion on the case near the rear main seal. Andrew Dodd has looked it over and says it definitely needs a line bore and speacial bearings as there is plenty of endplay.
I'll give you a call about it.

I've a complete 36hp engine up here in Darwin for $250...was running a couple of years back and has been kept out of the weather since.
Will also have the gearbox to go with it soon.

Steve what are we doing with the engine and bits?? I need you to send the case and other parts back if you are not going to use them, I am happy to take an offer for the 54 fuel pump and head nuts etc...please call me when you get this message this has dragged on too long
