Hi guys,
Chasing a standard unmodified and complete king and link beam from an early Beetle in Melburg. Shocks aren't required.
Let me know who has one and how much you are chasing?
Dino.

Hey Oliver,
Where are you located?
I need to to use the bits from the old beam combined with the new DUB beam that will be on its way soon, to make one 'ready to fit' and refreshed narrowed beam.

depending how early the beam is some of the parts are not suitable for a DUB beam.
early tie rods are fixed on the drivers side. the trailing arms are also not suitable as they are not stamped to retain the spring packs.
You need to check these parts that they suit for what your wanting to do.

the trailing arms you are after look like the ones of the left in these pics (one on the right is the earlier style):
mating surface for link pins will be the type shown on left below
and part where spring packs go will be chiseled in like on the left below

Can I ask why you can't use the earlier style?, I'm looking to do the same in the near future and planned on reusing what I already have.

you can use them, but you need to pein over the edges so that the small torsion leaves dont work their way out. not sure how hard it would be to do it... i just used later ones.
alternatively you could reweld the ends of the torsion leaves...
also use 10 flat washers for the link pin instead of 8+the pressed washer.

Anything can be made to work. If you have early arms, as *did* said, use 10 shims, if you have late arms use 8 shims and the o ring retainer. Just be sure to get new link pins at the very least, may as well get some dropped spindles and new king pins too.

I've already got a set of german king and linkpins waiting, just gotta work out how narrow I'm gonna go. I just cant see the leaves working loose if they are anchored in the centre adjuster properly and at the ends with the trailing arm retaining screw

You must know better than all the design engineers at Volkswagen.

Your tyre might disagree when it has a small leave spring hanging out the sidewall
Have a good look at how the centre bolt locks into the leave pack
