WANTED: STARTER 12V, needed urgently.

Post by panelbeatersam »

hey everyone, the starter on my daily driver blew up and i need one ASAP to get to work. its a 1600 motor on a 6v gearbox, with a 12v flywheel, so i need a 12v starter to suit a 1600.
i can do some panelwork if you would rather a trade on services, and if you would go for that then i'll make sure you get the better end of thhe deal, because im kinda low on funds.

hey everyone, i know im gunna feel like a jackass, but im gunna tell you all anyway.
the starter motor is fine, it was the dead battery.
before you all roll around on the ground laughing, just lemme explain...

my mum lent me her Shit box Holden. to fix up the front bumper bar, and i left it sit for a month. the battery went flat, so i used my beetle to jumpstart it.
jumpstart worked, drove the beetle into the shed and took mums car back to her, 3 hours drive away.
after the xmas break, i came back home 4 days later and drove the beetle to my gf's place. i went to get fuel, pressed the start button, nothing.
i push started the beetle home, she drove home fine. then i got to my place, and then she wouldnt even push start. so because iv had the same symptoms before, and the battery is less than 3 months old, i thought it was the same problem as before, the starter.
as it turns out, my $200 battery is dead again.
so anywho, long story short, i dont need the starter motor any more.

type3disease, if you still want some work done, i'd be happy to help. can talk if you want to

GEt yourself a multimeter and check that the regulator is not over charging. May have fried the new battery.
