Im chasing another 40hp flywheel as the one on my engine is tearing up the rear main seal due to the surface rust/pitting
also after a scratch free windscreen to fit into my 58, the one i threw in there to "make do" is ok for day driving but at night its like trying to look through frosted glass
any help or leeds would be very muchly appreciated
(can pick up from most places along the ost coast in the next 2 weeks)
I've got 2 or 3 in the shed, one has a pretty worn ring gear but rust free and the other is a bit rusty but good ring gear it might clean up ok.
I think there is a third but that is still bolted to a fucked engine.
you can have one if you can pick it up.
I'm in nord melburg.
Have you considered salvage of your old flywheel by means of grind chrome grind on the seal running surface?
I used to salvage drive yokes in this way for about $250 and the area on those would be three times larger so you may get out of it for $100 to $150
If you call Hasting Deering in Brisbane and ask who does their hardchroming they could give you a quote
This could be a good option if you get stuck
Cheers

Our monthly internet has run out after just 1 week.
So I can't send you those pics right yet.
I don't know how rusty your one is to be tearing up your main seal, but the best of my spares does have surface rust, which cleaned up ok with oil and a green scourer pad.
