anyone get pics of the red rat thing. That was my fav for the day.

The VW providing the most fun on the day would have to be the oval rollin pan from VW Performance. Boys were having a ball driving that pan about.

Is this someone's on here? Love to know more about it...
Funny story about the guy that owns this. I spent 2 hours on Sunday directing the parking of cars. The guy rocked up and proceeded to attempt to reverse up to the fence around the track. Sure enough, didn't know how to find reverse and made the comment that he had only picked up the car the day before! Talk about leaving your car preparation to the last minute!

cool ride indeed but ditch those red steelies for schwarz ones and that would be a nice start! Tend to recall there was 4 adults in the car too so it was kinda sittin low(er)
so what's the story behind this car? og rhd split ragtop? local? agree red rims ruin it a bit, its not the same schwarz split that i saw at dovw 2009 i think?

The blac k oval was probably my fave of the resto's. The pic below it is the 300hp turbo motor. Its probably the best Oval Ive ever seen for overall quality of finish.
It was completed the day before the show,
The guy in the pic was the builder.

The split was a very close second for me

As per usual, i turned up with every intention of taking hundreds of pics, but ended up with 30 or so (why does this always happen!?)

At last years DOVW i was walking around looking at the cars, and suddenly i hear some woman shouting "NO WAY!!! ..... THERE HE IS....." and pointing at me....
Bearing in mind i'd not been in Australia that long, i was a bit confused to say the least...as we really didn't know that many people in Australia!
As i got closer i was amazed to see it was a couple who lived in the same little village as me in the UK!!
It turns out that they knew we'd moved to Australia, but didn't have a clue as to which part of Australia (it's a bloody big place!) .... and they weren't sure if i was even still into VW's.
Anyway, they were walking around looking at the cars at the time and she was having a conversation with her husband that went... "hey, wouldn't it be mad if we saw Neil here......!!!" Bloody small world!

Anyway, rambling aside, it was great to see them get a judges prize for best paint for their kombi!

Yep It's Tecoma's old lightblue one, Since Ian bought it, it's now on an early pan and rego'd as a '51.
A local couple here (Benders) Is getting a bus restored by Ian, and once the Mrs saw the bug they had to have it too.
It'll be great to have it up here, just need to steer the rim choice a bit
