matty.

I'm going to suggest a couple of things...

there may be a reason why people have kept those things in cupboards for years, and I would suggest it's not just to sell them to you.

Part of creating your 'own' car is finding these parts, getting the not original, and making do, running down the leads, checking egay every day, enjoying the process, chatting to people, asking questions, meeting new people, and being a bit humble.

Yes I know this is your 'wish list'.. but make it just that, if somebody wants to sell, they might just do so, IF..! ! they want to, not because you want it.

keep the dream, buddy, but keep it close, and keep it safe.

Good message in that Rick, I like it! And the exchange rate is killing me at the moment... All the credit cards are clear and the temptation too good...

I was 17 when I bought my first beetle, exactly half my lifetime ago, it was a flipper blau 74 1300. Cool car - loved it - still one of the best I've had, wouldn't mind another... At the time I could only dream of owning an oval... But years on... After buyin and selling a few cars, and parts, upgrading along the way I finally went one better and bought the pretzel... It's been a journey of discovery and hunting, trawling the classifieds, buying the trading post every Thursday morning, knocking on doors, peering over fences, now spending too long online, just to piece the puzzles together and learning so much about the marque. I've met some great people along the way, and some douchebags and rip-offs, but all in all it's the journey of being a car guy... it's not something you can buy off a shelf...

mate you work in the business, so the journey you have taken has been one of blood sweat & tears But also one of total fulfilment during your life & into the future. thats great.

its like Leo my DC... I saw that at DOVW about 2005/6... i turned to my wife & said i will own that one day... years later Rob put it up for sale & we bought it... same sort of feeling different path taken.

yes mate its a wanted ad (wish list) call it whateva ya want... thats why people of ALL forums post WTB :? ... & NO im not in a hurry. if people have those items & want to sell them... well thats great. then they have a buyer. if not ill move on & the journey will continue. as it is the response has been good. what you dont buy/flog off special items for the cars you own... i think so.
