Ok tie rods.

Not easy to find these days. Have you considered new?

Try cip1 (click ad at bottom of page)

They have nearly every last nut and bolt for a vw?

Who ever told you that doesnt know what they are talking about. You shorten both rods at the right hand thread end.

What are you doing? Narrowing? or going back to stock width?

Ok, no need to run a damper, they didnt start until early 60s anyway. You wont make it fit with a narrowed rod, it simply wont reach. Best you grab the pair off JNR356.

Make sure your new tie rod ends match your spindles. There are early and late style tie rod ends, later are bigger and wont fit early spindles. If it has dropped spindles, best to check as some are made for late tie rod ends, and some are made for early rie rod ends.

Just a little tip

cheers mate,

thanks for all the help.
yeah, wasn't worried about the dampener, had been told its common for them to be cut off.

all good on the ends, they are standard spindles and when i bought the ends i told him it was a 5 stud front end.
