'54 steering wheel

Chasing a batwing or even a steering wheel boss to suit a '54 for old mates roadster we're fixing up. Anything at all considered.

when you say boss, do you mean just the middle casting with the spline in it?

I meant like a boss for a sports wheel, but do you think there's enough meat in that casting to machine it into an adaptor?

So when did the splines change?
This thing has a custom column made, the steering wheel end has a large coarse spline. It had a flat early bug wheel with it, but a fine spline one.

Tried a bat wing on it and it's perfect

Pretty sure a late fine spline wheel will fit on a early coarse spline shaft but not the other way around

Alan has ordered a boss from the states, hopefully be here soon.
Using the 59ish wheel for now.
