I know. I think mid thirty's is the asking rate for nice Type 3's at the moment.

Has been full on and F&rK!n freezing in the workshop the last month. Have just finished a Bay Camper. Used a Westy R&R bed along with TMI cards and about 100 metres of TMI red. Finally getting the schwarz Oval together. Should be out this week. Had Matty our dent genius in to remove a crease from the passenger door of the Oval. See if you can make sense of the before and after pics. Getting heaps of TMI gear through now too. Quality is excellent for the price.

Dropped in last week to grab some parts off the Bay the boys were wrecking.
Great looking workshop and the quality of work they do is second to none.
I did have a little trouble finding the place but with the help from Johnno I got there.
Really nice and friendly guy, even offered me a coffee while I was there.
The company car is "Oh so sweet".
Can't wait to get started on the lowlight and throw some cash ther way...

p.s. I finally have my steering box.....thanks fellow Lufters.

Thanks Brett. Customer supplied the tiles. Came all the way from Bunnings. Not a bad product actually. Peel and stick. No real art to it, but a bit of maths to cut them to make 'em fit the space. You must drop in next time you're in the area. Make sure you're in the bug.

Just some seats we've done lately.

Bay double cab single and double in red pleated man-made leather for a Greaser.
Splitty fronts in leather to go in a high-rider splitty ute, and some Type3 seats done with TMI leatherette covers.

A few pics of what's been garn on.
The old 56 Oval gets a new TMI mohair headliner and carpet kit.
Very nice beetle gets some German Square Weave that should last another 30-40 years.
Nice ol 58 beetle looking a bit tired on the inside gets a Brick Red interior, (door cards to follow), WW napp headliner and TMI 10 piece carpet kit.
Camper had its pop-top canvas torn to shreds when the top popped while on the back of a truck. New one sharpens it up a bit.

Hey Brad,

What is the lead time on TMI gear like? I have a '56 oval that needs some gear.
Im thinking of doing a DIY on everything (seat covers, door trims, carpet, headliner) but need someone to supply?
Thought i'd put it here so everyone gets an idea, otherwise feel free to PM me.
An idea on price will help too

Lead time is 3-4 weeks. They make everything to order and it's usually a month in the making plus a few days for shipping. Pricing really depends on what you get. The catalogue is huge with price being determined by materials chosen and whether you go standard, custom or OEM.
On the DIY thing, I'm putting together a range of products for those who want to DIY. Professional products that make it that bit easier. Spray contacts, tools, materials etc. I'm more than happy to assist anyone who wants to do it themselves. There seems to be quite a few who want to do their restos themselves and really that's what's great about VW's. So many parts, panels etc are available, and with the motivation anyone can weld, paint, rebuild mechanical stuff and trim a VW.
Just on another subject, I want to thank Nectar for the ripper job he's done on the fit out of 67 Splitty Camper in the workshop at the moment. For those who don't know, he's now in business for himself as a chippy. (The Assembly King), and the guy's great. Full story and pics soon, but here's a preview. Will be done for the Jambo Sunday so keep a look out for it.
